Shakespeare can often be a daunting topic for students, and a solid introduction to the works of the Bard is key to eliminating any fear they may associate with it. Theatre Exchange offer an excellent approach either to the play as a topic, or to the use of language within the text.
Shakespeare’s language is explained and explored through the use of drama games and exercises, incorporating modern comparisons to plot and characters. There is focus on the period of history in which the plays were written, and what effect they would have on an audience during this time.
These workshops can be tailored to either Key Stage 2 level, or Key Stage 3 (years 7-9).
