Theatre Exchange is a regional, innovative company that specialises in producing educational, community-centric and culturally resonant theatre in the South East. Our productions vary from historical theatre workshops in primary schools, to rural touring such as our original play Our June’s Wedding, pop-up theatre for early years such as MoonBrella, holiday workshops and much more. Often interactive and participatory, Theatre Exchange’s work is made with a focus on the beneficial impact culture can have on communities, providing unconventional and personal theatrical experiences.
We are dedicated to developing quality theatre for audiences who have less accessibility to the arts in their area, with particular emphasis on rural/semi-rural communities. Previously part of the Thorndike Theatre, Leatherhead, Theatre Exchange has been active since 1989. Since 1997 the company received charitable status, and in 2001 worked in collaboration with Tandridge Trust. As of 2018 Theatre Exchange merged with Freedom Leisure and will continue to create, produce and deliver unique theatrical experiences across the South East of England.
